Budget Billing is a program aimed at helping customers reduce fluctuation in monthly bills due to seasonal changes from January to November.
About Budget Billing
Budget Billing is a voluntary program where HMLP looks at a customer’s past usage to determine an appropriate payment. The program runs annually from December to November.
Who Can Participate?
Budget Billing is a voluntary program open to customers who meet program requirements.
- Have 12 months of established service with HMLP at the same service address.
- Have an account in good standing as of December 20, 2024.
- Have not had:
- a non-payment disconnect, or
- 2 or more missed payments, or
- a payment returned due to insufficient funds in the last 12 months.
How is my Bill Determined?
HMLP evaluates each customers account usage history and determines an appropriate monthly payment. Payments must be made on or before the due date each month
PAYMENTS
- Customers enrolled in Budget Billing are encouraged to utilize auto-pay to ensure on time payments
- Payments must be made on or before the due date
- Customers enrolled in Budget Billing will get the prompt payment discount
- Any missed payments or returned payments due to insufficient funds can lead to removal from the program
- Customers will be obligated to pay the full balance shown on their December HMLP bill once Budget Billing ends
What happens when the program ends?
Budget Billing Ends in November.
December bills will show the full amount owed to HMLP and payment will be due on or before due date as usual.
Customers with credits greater than $25 will receive a refund.
